Opportunity: Clinical Excellence & Commercial Autonomy
Are you a self-employed Occupational Therapist with your own established business (Pty Ltd, Trust, or Sole Trader with ABN) ready to partner with a trusted brand?
Thinking of leaving employment to start your own practice? This partnership offers the ideal platform to transition to contracting, giving you commercial independence while leveraging a proven referral base and administrative support.
Lifeworks Occupational Therapy invites Independent Contractor businesses to submit proposals to provide services in our niche areas of practice to our valued client base across Western Australia and beyond. This is not an employee position; it is a commercial contract for services designed for the professional who thrives on autonomy and operating their own enterprise.
We seek contracting businesses whose professional practices align with the core mission and values of Lifeworks OT.
Our Vision & Values: Our vision is to be Australia's leading provider of quality occupational therapy services in our niche areas. We operate under a commitment to respect, integrity, quality, collaboration, individualised care, and innovation. We expect all contractors to embody a professional and ethical manner in line with the highest standard of care.
Clinical Focus & Scope: We are seeking contractors with extensive experience to provide any of the following services across any age group:
Occupational therapy assessments, reporting, and group and individual interventions.
Clinical areas including: Mental Health (including perinatal mental health), Persistent Pain/Fatigue, Sleep, Chronic and Complex Conditions such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Functional Neurological Disorders, and Neurodivergence.
Professional supervision of other health professionals and disability providers.
Funding & Referral Diversity: Your business will be exposed to a diverse and robust referral stream utilising various funding models, including: Medicare (CDM and BAMH), Worker's Compensation, Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance, NDIS (Plan and Self Managed Only), Private Health Insurance, Private Pay, and Law Firm referrals.
Multidisciplinary Environment: Benefit from working alongside our on-site Psychology and Physiotherapy services, and our partnerships with other external health services.
This partnership is structured to maximize your time spent on clinical work and reward your experience:
Generous Flat Hourly Rate: Your business sets its own pricing. We are looking for quotes starting from $100+ per client-facing hour. You will negotiate your hourly rate for client appointments, reflecting your experience and commercial status.
Focus on OT, Not Admin Hassle: Our professional administrative team handles the entire back-end process, including initial client booking, scheduling, fee collection, and invoicing to clients and third parties. This allows your business to focus on delivering the clinical outcomes you love and are trained for.
You retain the authority to run your business and deliver services on your terms, aligning with your high level of professional control:
Set Your Schedule: You determine how and when the services are delivered to meet the terms of your contract. You have the flexibility to determine your own work schedule.
Service Location Flexibility: Choose your preferred service delivery methods: clinic-based (at our locations), home visiting, or telehealth from your own premises.
Subcontracting Rights: Your business can provide a representative or replacement to perform the Services.
As a successful contractor, your business is responsible for maintaining all aspects of a compliant commercial enterprise. These are the basics:
Business Standing: Must hold a valid ABN, and have your own email address.
Insurance: Maintain current AHPRA registration and hold professional indemnity and public liability insurance at the minimum levels of $10M Professional Indemnity and $20M Public Liability.
Tax & Superannuation: Your business handles all tax obligations (income tax, GST) and Superannuation (unless required to be paid by Lifeworks OT).
Tools and Resources: Your business is responsible for supplying and maintaining all necessary tools and equipment required to perform the services agreed to.
Clinical Governance: You are responsible for your own professional/clinical supervision and development.
We are seeking commercially-minded Occupational Therapists to enter into an Independent Contractor Agreement with our Practice.
If your business is ready for a partnership defined by professional focus, autonomy, and excellent commercial terms, we invite you to express your commercial interest.
To Submit Your Commercial Proposal:
Ensure your business has a valid ABN and holds or is ready to obtain the required Insurances.
Email your Business Profile (or professional CV detailing your areas of experience) and a Cover Letter setting out your quoted hourly rate for client appointments, your proposed service offering, and availability to our Associate Director, Heidi Perera, at careers@lifeworksot.com.au.
Please Note: This is an advertisement for a commercial contract for services. The successful entity will be required to enter into a legally binding Independent Contractor Agreement. Nothing in this Agreement creates an employment, agency, joint venture, or partnership relationship.
