Lifeworks OT's story began in 2014 when our founder, Jacintha, recognised a crucial gap in community mental health services. Working in public mental health, she found that constant crisis intervention left little room for preventive care or therapeutic interventions that could genuinely improve people's quality of life.
Driven by a vision to fill this gap, Jacintha started Lifeworks OT from her home office. She began by seeking Medicare-funded mental health referrals from consultant psychiatrists in private practice. This allowed her to focus on therapeutic interventions, helping clients achieve their goals and experience real success.
As word spread about our effective, client-centred approach, Lifeworks OT began to expand. A significant turning point came when Jacintha was invited to work within a multi-disciplinary pain management service. This experience ignited a passion for improving the lives of people dealing with persistent pain, leading to our expertise in this area.
Our team grew, welcoming passionate professionals like Peta, who became our Practice Manager, and Elyse, who now leads our North team as Principal OT. Each new team member brought unique skills and a shared commitment to our clients' wellbeing.

In 2021, we achieved a significant milestone by moving into our own premises in Mt Lawley. This move allowed us to create a central hub for our services and better serve our growing client base.
